It looks like a hybrid with Epi. stamfordianum (sp?) as a parent, other than that, I can't help you, though it should help culture wise.

Curtis - I don't think it is a hybrid at all, I really do believe that it is straight Epi stamfordianum.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will check it out.

Yes, looks like a winner to me. Also, appears they have quite a bit of natural color variation so that may account for the impression of being a hybrid, but I did find images of same color pattern with no indication of being a hybrid.

Bonus: They occur naturally in the department of Izabal, Guatemala where I live. This was originally a purchased orchid (judging from the fact it is mounted) so it is good to discover it is also indigenous here. Lots of other Epi's occur naturally here too.

Thanks much!

Thanks for the ID help. A few thank you pics attached from my morning coffee walk -- non-orchid flowering plants, including soon to fruit pineapples, and a couple of future dinner guests (yumm!).

Even better -- returned home after a few days to find the Epi stamfordianum.in full bloom. Pic's of it and a few others attached.
