Default How Can I Tell What Onc. Type This Is?

This orchid has no id.

Can anyone ID it?

If not actually ID it, can anyone tell me what type of Onc. it might be? Mtssa, Odbrs, Oncda, etc?? How do you tell the difference??

It looks very much like Oncidium Sharry Baby. Take a look at http://www.geocities.com/RainForest/...sharrybaby.jpg or http://www.nhbirdsnest.com/images_or...c0004_2002.jpg

It sure does look ALOT like the blooms in those links but... I have an Onc. Sharry Baby 'Misaki' that bloomed in June and smelled like chocolate - but this one does not have a fragrance to it - I thought all Sharry Baby's did???

Give it more time for the fragrance. Looks like the blooms are just starting to open.

Its a very big plant over all. Should produce some nice blooms.

... and this one only took one more day after fully opening to start putting out a fragrance and... Sharry Baby it is!!!

Smells VERY much like my Sharry Baby 'Misaki' just not as intense... yet! When that one was in bloom, both our dogs kept sticking their noses in it, always disappointed they couldn't find the chocolate and eat it.

Thanks all for your help and info. I was a little embarassed to post pictures of the actual plant because I've neglected it enough that moss is growing in the pot - but the plant seems happy. It will get a good repotting after its done blooming.

Thanks again...
