This Phal blooms in late spring. These are the best photos I currently have. The first has the right colors but is slightly out of focus. The second is infocus but has washed out colors.
I didn't notice that this plant was actually labelled as a Paph when we bought it! Any thoughts are appreciated.
Hello, I have the same phal and mine was not labeled either. I picked her up at a local greenhouse that only carries orchids on occasion here in Maine. I have had her almost 8 months and she still has beautiful blossoms. She is quite a large and awkward plant with huge rugged leaves and waxy petals. The roots are very strong and sturdy reaching out everywhere! I call this particular phal my flamboyant one! Sorry I can't help you with a name, but does the description go along with yours? She is one of my favorites! Kiki-do
Hi Gin, Yeah the lip (?) on mine starts out with a beautiful orangey hue then turns to a bright purple at the end of it.
That surprised me that you asked about scent. I didn't know phals had a scent at all. I was sure they didn't so I've never actually smelled them...until now, and no, it doesn't have a scent. I'm a beginner, remember, so my descriptions may not be the best.
