What is this flower???
Default What is this flower???

We had this flower come up in our backyard. It started off as almost an asparagus looking thing. It has since grown much taller and has now developed these flowers at the top. It has no obvious leaves, just the tall thin stem and the flowers. I have included a picture. Don't know if it is an orchid...just guessing.

Sweet!

Don't dig that puppy up. It would be unlikely to survive the transition.

You must be on the edge of a reserve because I have very rarely found these growing on disturbed land before. They are almost completely reliant on their associated mycorrhizal fungus for nutrients and without this will die.
