Yeah we live on a block with a reserve behind us. The area was cleared for building but we put some organic mulch down and the orchid has come up through that.

You must be on the edge of a reserve because I have very rarely found these growing on disturbed land before. They are almost completely reliant on their associated mycorrhizal fungus for nutrients and without this will die.
