Onion Orchids? Male
Default Onion Orchids? The bulbs arre huge! Any thoughts?

Hi, We recently moved to SW FLA and found these growing out of a pile of leaves in the lanai. I have been trying to categorize them by the size of their bulbs with no luck. There is a quarter in one of the photos for perspective. The stalks are 18 - 24" in length the flowers are white with red spots and about ahalf inch across. Any help in identifying them would be appreciated. I am planning on separating these and potting them individually. There are five and the bulbs are elongated with a massive amount of roots... It is an interesting plant! Thanks in advance!

It looks like an encyclia to me. Probably encyclia tampensis. They're native to Florida.

That is Eulophia graminea. Native to Asia. They grow like weeds in southern FL. Congrats.

We recently had to remove a cypress that was rotten throughout from the yard. I managed to save the patch of Encyclia tampensis that was attached to the trunk. I´ve included a photo above , much smaller bulbs. Hoping to relocate them sometime in the near future..

Yes, definitely Eulophia graminea. Seems to be quite the traveler here in Florida. Thank you for the info!

Sorry, it looks like I gave you bad information. It probably is Eulophia graminea. Good job, Gage and Medellinproperties.
