So, I take it that alliance members can interbreed naturally. But can a sophisticated grower hybridize them with other genera not in the alliance?
I think that's how they determined if a species is in an alliance. Trial & error, over the many, many years orchid breeding has been going on.

Once they have lots of plants in the pot then one blooms after another and it makes the bloom last a little longer. I don't like waiting a year for it to bloom again. On the plus side, mine has a very upright habit which makes it take little space.

I'm a real novice or non-grower. I concentrate more on photographing all over the place: CA, DC, GA, FL, CR, and next, probably EC. After new ones (to us) are done blooming, my wife likes to tie them to trees around our place in Naples, FL. Not sure what we will do with the Lc, since it is so tall.

I would think that she could still do that, if she picks the right spot.
