The last part of the name, which is in quotes, is the clone name. They are the same cross, different clone. Remember that 2 siblings from the same parents can look quite different. So when a cross gets an award, that plant can be given a clonal name. You and I can have two siblings, but if yours gets an award mine doesn't carry that award. But if you give me a division of yours or if I make a clone from yours some other way, that clone will carry the name you gave yours, and the award. Hope this helps.

Hmmm. Help me sort this out. Since my plant has the clonal name 'Golden Oriole' and the 'Golden Oriole' has a AM/AOS does that mean it's automatically identified as an awarded plant even if the vendor didn't write it on the tag?
