Default newbie from Philippines :) what's this cattleya?

Hi guys, i'm from the Philippines and a newbie in this hobby, needless to say fascinated by the awe-inspiring flowers of these wonderful orchids

I started with a few vandas some months ago. Recently I got a gift (was told it was a cattleya that would bloom orange flowers). It had a bud when I got it and after 3 weeks it bloomed and blasted me away

Thing is, I have no idea what its name is.. hoping for your help..

the other bud on the left died from too much rain i guess, will be sheltering it from now on

still wet from last night's shower

my daughter likes it too

That is one spectacular bloom, but unfortunately, it cannot be properly identified. I can tell you that it is most definetely a Cattleya, but that is as far as I can go as there are hundreds of hybrids out there that look similar to this, so proper identification is impossible.

Nope...a potinara burana has one red stripe on the yellow petal ... this ones a NOID...unless you can go to the source and they can retrieve the tag or at least the parents names...

Its a very pretty bloom and the color is stunning...I specifically love the ruffled lip...I suggest you try hard to get its hybrid name from the source...

More and more of your kababayans (including me) are so addicted to this hobby. Your itchiness and "wishlist" will urge you to buy more and more until you ran out of space hehe.
