Zo12 is on the money - the plant is definitely bloom size. With good culture, I'd look for buds emerging in the spring. Be looking for sheaths coming at the base of the new growth. They will be good indicators if the plant is prepping to flower. My lobata/tenebrosa finishes March/April with leaves over 12 inches (atop 8-10 inch p-bulbs) and 4-5 inch sheaths. It then rests a couple months before pushing buds through the sheath in late May-early June. Yours could very well be different, but just an idea of what to possibly expect. Good luck and please send bloom pics! Lost tag plants are usually a fun surprise.

Excellent! "Thing" has definitely gone from "it's $2, so how can I not" to one of my favorite plants just because of the mystery of it.

Cool! Some of my favorites have been unknowns and cast-offs. I just have a heart for underdogs, I guess. Keep me posted on its progress and if you have more questions. I'm going to try and get my gallery started this weekend and will include a pic of my similar plant to whet your appetite.

OOAJ, can you tell me if your orchid grow new roots before or after the complete grow of the new PB?

Honestly I don't know. I've only had it for a couple weeks now. I did repot it and there were a lot of dead roots in the middle that I took off, but the roots nearer the new growth were longer and healthier. As far as which came first, I couldn't say, at least not with my level of experience.
