i guess i'm just not responsible enough for a keiki.
it dried up the next day.
i guess the mom was doing a better job than the babysitter.
i tried keeping it moist, but obviously not enough!!!
Sometimes when there are variations in temperature or moisture, you can get those funny leaf growths. It kind of looks like there are other leaves inside the one that looks like a sweatshirt hood. I think the inflorescence can develop normally. If it were my plant, I'd be tempted to (carefully, delicately) split the very top of the hoody-leaf, so the other leaves can get out. Sprinkle a little cinnamon or sulfur on the cut to dry it out. It's not like you're going to 'ruin' a nice leaf! My personal philosophy is not to cut stuff off that isn't dead!

I am sorry to hear what happened MI XIAO.... I gave the best advice I could and even with the knowledge and advice that myself and rescuer gave, you did what you thought you could. Here is why it does not work tho- I have grown plants and killed enough plants as im sure everyone here has- to know when to back off and leave something alone. Following my advice probably would have been the best route as doing nothing to a plant sometimes is. It is a hard lesson to learn, but maybe in the future you will listen when people tell you to just leave it alone and wait as hard as it is to do.
