Do I have a Paph Roth of Some Kind?
Default Do I have a Paph Roth of Some Kind?

Hi all, need some help. I picked up this beauty up at a local flower shop. It seems to be some Roth of some kind. There is a tag from Cal-Orchids H1743. Not sure what those numbers mean. Any suggestions would help. Thanks.

It looks like a Roth. You might try calling Cal Orchids and see if they can ID from the tag.

There are so many roth hybrids out there that look very similar to roth that I would hesitate to say that this is a pure roth. It will be interesting to hear what Cal-Orchids has to say.

Very few hybrids would keep the very distinctive roth staminode, so I'd be surprised if it isn't roth. The tag number should be definitive though, so contacting Cal Orchids ought to nail it down, as others have said.

I'll certainly contact Cal-Orchids and see if they retained any records. Here's some more pictures I took and these are the colors are more accurate on these pics.
