Some of Grandma's plants

Hello all,

I was looking through some old photo albums and discovered that my Grandma had some beautiful plants. I came upon one photo in particular:

So, anyone know what Catt that is? And the plant next to it, is that an orchid?

And here is a look at some others

Can anyone offer any ID? Comments welcome

Hard to say on the catt, without a better close up. The other looks like it could be a dendrochillum possibly

Whatever they are, they are very nicely grown - look at the aerial roots on that Catt! Now we know where you get it from!!

Next to the cattleya could be a Stanhopea.... the leaves look like it, and they tend to be grown in baskets, the flowers come out the bottom of the basket.

Almost looks like Laelia anceps on the left. Hard to tell without a close-up.

What a great family find Tindo you must have been so excited. They do look great, but coming up with an appropriate ID...don't know.

Thanks all for the help. Cheryl, you are so right. It was very exciting to learn where my obsession comes from. I grew up in my Grandma's house from birth to the age of 4. I suppose this plants and orchid stuff must be ingraned in my psyche. Interesting to note that my two favorite plant families are orchids and Aroids (the Anthurium in the picture, ).

Plant on the right: I vote for stanhopea or gongora. The growth habit looks more stanhopea-ish.

Unbeleivable that my grandma turned out to be an orchid enthusiast. A Stanhopea to boot! I went to the AOS headquarters this week in Florida and took my grandfather with me. As we toured the greenhouse, he recognized many orchids as having been at one point or another part of my grandmother's collection. I never knew this. Its soo cool. Thanks all.

Looks like a stanhopea on the right. If you had a picture of it blooming there is someone in my orchid society who specializes in stanhopeas and Nina is an orchid judge.

Look around for some more pics and let me help you get a name.
