I am just a beginner in orchids. I have a few types. most of them noids-as I buy the smallest plants to cut cost-usu. at two leaves stage; and then attempt to grow them
kindly help me out.
this one was small, neglected among more showy exibits.nobody knew it's name. it appears to be a miniature den. with red leaves.can anyone help me out?-img_0117-jpg

Hi Manoj, from the flowers it looks like you have a Phalaenopsis (former Doritis) pulcherrima, not a Dendrobium. Could also be a hybrid that's mostly pulcherrima, but it looks like the species to me. As Tucker said, some pics of the vegetation will help make or confirm ID. Hope this helps!

It does actually look like the species Doritis pulcherrhima, not a hybrid of it.

Doritaenopsis has more rounded sepals and petals.

I would agree that it's very like Doritis pulcherrhima (now renamed as Phalaenopsis pulcherrhima but still called Doritis by most people).

If it's a hybrid then its one which has a LOT of pulcherrhima in it's background.

I think it's cared for like a standard phal, but others may have more info on that.
