Orchid Identification Help

To all the orchid enthusiasts,
I received this cutting from a co-worker and she was not certain of the name or genus. I believe it is a dendrobium but the name is a mystery. I have researched on-line extensively to no avail. If there is anyone that can give me an exact or just even close to a name it would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Sort of reminds me of some sort of Cattleya rather than a Dendrobium, but I could be completely wrong on that. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will be able to point you on the right lines.

The size of The bloom is about the size of a .25cents/quarter very small for a Cattleya but, you never know? I will give that a look and see if I can find something similar. Thanks

Grand-slam, I went online and browsed around and bingo there it was and the explanation was exactly right. (The pigeon orchid) is a common name for it.

Definitely a Dendrobium, but if the flower is still open, it's not crumenatum. Dendrobium crumenatum flowers only last for a few hours.

Your help has broadened my knowledge and I am thankful.
From bud to bloom was at the speed of sound. (Figure of speech) it only lasted that day and by evening it was shriveled up and gone. When I received the cutting it was in not the best of shape all the canes were cut back and now I have mounted them on driftwood and the life is back with new growth, roots and the one bloom. I don't have to be perfect on the name because I will never know for 100% sure. So, a thank you to everyone that helped.
