this looks like a type of dendrobium. Where were the flowers in relations to the main growth? What did the leaves look like? Do you remember how it was planted? Mounted? etc.

definitely not a Dendrobium. I would guess that it's a bromeliad. I already posted links to pictures of the whole plant:

Definetely not an orchid at all. Not even a terrestrial. I did see the picture of the plant and it does look like a bromeliad. Whatever it is the blooms look beautiful. Great picture.
