Milt. Edie Brown Female
Default Milt. Edie Brown

Hi,

I just bought this lovely orchid. It smells wonderful. My question is if it is a cool growing or warm growing orchid? I included pictures.

Thanks for all your help.

I would class these Miltoniopsis as Intermediate growers. They don't like cold at all nor excessive heat. A range of temps from 12c to 30c is best.
Never let the plants roots stay wet nor dry, moist is best. Good indirect light is best.

This is one of the cooler growing miltoniopsis from Columbia. They grow cool to intermediate. They don't tolerate temps in the 30C range very well, but can take it for short periods if they can get cooled off at night and can be misted while in the heat.

I found this on OrchidWiz:
Milt. Edie Brown is composed of species of which 97% take cool temperatures, 97% take intermediate temperatures and 52% take cold temperatures. Grow this hybrid in cold to intermediate conditions, or 50°F to 75°F at night.

Gorgeous blooms!

I would agree, it's a Miltoniopsis rather than a Miltonia. They grow a bit colder than Miltonia, but I actually grow mine in pretty similar conditions in my standard house temps and both seem to like it.
