It's not really possible to ID NoID phals. There are just so many of them which can all look alike that you can never be sure even if you find another that looks the same.

Your's is really pretty! Love the colour.

Anyway, NoID's are just as pretty and the care for this one will be the same as general phal care.

Your phal looks like a novelty phal. These types of phals are hybrids in which most of the species parents come from a section called Polychilos. These species, and thus their hybrids are easily indentifiable by their waxy and fragrant flowers that bloom sequentially with a few open at a time. Your particular plant looks like has either or both Phal. bellina and violacea, but other than that the plant cannot be identified. Hope that helped!

Even if you've found a picture of one that looks identical it may not be. You can only really be sure if it's a very unique one (which this isn't), if the Vendor confirms the ID, or if you have an expensive genetic test.

As well as the link I posted above about why a NoID is always a NoID, there has also been more of a discussion about it on this thread where someone thought they had found a match, but other members have seen ones that look the same but have different parents. http://www.orchidboard.com/community...tml#post383650

If it were mine I would put a tag which said 'Phal. Sweet Memory (NoID)' or something like that. As Camille said in this thread you can use a name of one it looks like and you think it may be, just make sure your records are clear that it's not 100% and make sure if you post pictures you indicate that the ID is not 100% (otherwise others may ID theirs based on yours not realising it's not 100%).

I do this for ALL my NoID's. I find the closet match and use the name, or a variant of the name. For example I have one I call Kalaedoscope which may or may not be Baldans's Kalaeidoscope, I just always keep the NoID on the tag as well

Just for fun I say that parents could be phalaenopsis violacea, equestis, and something else.
I think it is similar (but not identical) to equalacea.
