Mine had lots of keikis when I bought it so I can't comment on the conditions that produced them. However every single keiki is spiking/budding (with one little cute flower open ).

I have another one, which I'm not sure is a hybrid called Ellen, or a cultivar of 'Ellen' (the tag seems to indicate the second but I'm not certain, once it flowers I should be able to tell). This was bought from the same nursary at the same time and has no keikis at all, but flower spikes out of the main canes.

Not sure if the difference indicates a difference in conditions, or a different genetic tendency.

Keiki production is related to how warm they're being grown throughout the year.

This is how nurseries intentionally produce keikis of Den kingianum.

The keiki growths can be controlled.
