A Dendrobium hybrid, probably of the Phalaenopsis type.

thanks! I was doing some internet research on the Dendrobium Phalaenopsis. According to the pics I've been seeing, my flower looks almost exactly like the white versions of this species. Snow white with a slightly light green tint in the middle. I saw it referred to as the "white pagoda". Could this be my orchid??

There are hundreds, perhaps thousands, of hybrids of this sort and it is impossible to identify which hybrid it is, but if you treat it like the rest of these you'll be doing the right thing, i.e., give it the culture required for Dend. phalaenopsis type orchids.

I agree, a hybrid in the Den Phal group is most likely.

As Ron said there are lot of these hybrids arround, mostly not registered. But if you care for it like a Den Phal then you should be about right.

Default Possible 'White Surprise'

I have one that seems (as far as I can remember - it just finished flowering) identical to yours. Mine is a Dendrobium 'White Surprise'. Google 'White Surprise' and see if the pics match your flowers
It's the purest white (with a pinch of greenish white in the "cone") in my collection and I love it.
Happy blooming!

thanks everyone. I have indeed been treating it like a den phal since, and it's been doing well. It's a small plant and only has about 4 flowers though. I'm hoping that it will survive after the flowering is over!! I understand that there's no real way to tell what it is, but I looked up White Pagoda again and it's 95% identical. The green markings are pretty much in exactly the same places, although mine doesn't have a very slight pink tinge I've seen on some of the pictures online. ah well...! it was just kind of fun trying to figure it out.

Val, thanks for your suggestion! I looked up white surprise and although it has pretty much the same colouring, the petals are shaped differently. I do love my dendrobium as well though! at first I thought all-white would be a bit plain, but it is certainly beautiful!
