Recently I bought a small Dendrobium. At the Garden center there was written 'Dendrobium Miniature' at the label. But at a Greek forum about orchids they told me that it is a Dendrobium bigibbum.
Well the flowers and characteristics resemble very much to those of a Dendrobium bigibbum but as I was searching for images on the iNet there is not a single another photo with yellow hues on the blooms like my orchid has.
And that's why I am posting here. Anyone any idea?
Dendrobium Hybrid (Phalaenopsis type). However, as Rob said, impossible to know which hybrid!
on the other hand, not exactly what one would call a miniature It is indeed a quite compat plant, and would not grow much more than that. But a miniature Dendrobium would be something like this:
Thanks Ramon. Therefore... the best is to wait and see (before I go and quarrel with them at the Garden Center).
:-S
While its entirely possible they may know what it is, the likeliness that the nursery that pushed those things out intentionally only wrote miniature Dendrobiums opposed to "Dendrobium Burana Candy Stripe Charm" or some other similarly composed name. Quarreling with them seems overdone for what it is.

Treat it like a biggibum and enjoy!
I don't think it's overdone. I bought it for a Miniature, not for a bigibbum.
They sell it they have the responsibility to inform correctly the customer what is he/she is going to buy. It's not a plastic plant, it's an alive being, that only people who can take care about it should buy it.
Well, I guess it all depends on how you look at it - for a den-phal, it's "mini" - imo anyway. And while I agree it's likely a hybrid of bigibbum, I do have a bigibbum ssp. compactum, which is much smaller than a "standard" biggibum ...
I have a den bigibbum var compactum that looks just like your plant. I get really purple flowers from it in the winter and in the hot summer, white with purple centers. The total plant size is about 8-10 inches tall.
