Well surprise, surprise! When I went to re-pot into s/h last night, there was a scrap tag at the bottom of the pot kind of shoved up into the roots. It was really faded but with a magnifying glass and a black light, I was able to make out a partial name.
Phal Ever S...n. Princ with some numbers at the very top end.
I did some detective work on RHS and google and I am fairly certain the correct tag name is Dtps Ever Spring Prince.
I never believed there would be a tag on it so I drove back out to Lowe's because there was one other in the orchid section (same Phal) which was not on the Sale Death Table. I poked around in the pot and it had a tag too!
Can I do a little dance now?
I'm such a lucky duck! This NEVER happens to me.

but at least it explains why your tag said Phal, but your research has come up with Dtps, whoever wrote the tag used the newer name
