Please help me to find the name of my stanhopea. Seeing its flower it is a stanhopea nigripes, but it has a strong scent of clove. As I read stanhopea nigripes has a scent of lily...

Hmmmm, well I think the easiest route would be to check out orchidspecies.com You'd just have to go down the list and find yours.

As for the scent, I've heard a lot of people smelling different things from a single species. I have a Stan. jensch-something-or-other and I smell a specific candy while my friend smelled cinnamon and vanilla.... it took me awhile to pick up one those scents.

I placed some cloves, cinnamon and vanilla and my stanhopea flower on a table.
Everybody smelled cloves for my stanhopea.

, the species of Stanhopea nigripes, in nature, is endemic to Peru & Ecuador.

So, quite easily, if your plant has originated in Peru or Ecuador, it's name probably is S. nigripes.
To find out, you may ask the nursery where you bought it about the origin of the parent(s) of your plant.
If this question cannot be answered, then you will never know for sure ...

Just for example, you may go to Stanhopea nigripes Rolfe 1894 - only to see there photos not of S. nigripes
but of S. anfracta and S. wardii, because Stanhopea flowers can easily be confused.

By the way, to try to determine any orchid species by means of what a human nose can smell of it's fragrance is, frankly, a lost endeavour ...
