This is a beauty, I couldn't pass up, even if it was nameless. 2 leaf, It is a creamy white 6" across, yellow lip 2" wide with fringe at the bottom. Just a dab of rose on the bottom of the lip. Fragrance is lemons

Impossible! No way with all the white Cattleya hybrids. It's Cattleya Noid.

With a lip like that and a lemon scent, it deffinately has Rhyncholaelia digbyana in its back ground. It is lovely.

I'm sure Ron was using Cattleya in the sense of the whole alliance, not specifically the genus. It is almost certainly what used to be called a Bc. or Blc. (and now probably Rlc.) It appears to have a significant percentage of Rhyncholaelia (Brassavola) digbyana in its ancestry, and also the big floofy monofoliate Cattleya types. It doesn't appear to have much influence from bifoliate Cattleya or 'Laelia' stock, or any 'Sophronitis'. It isn't going to be possible to be certain of any specific identification.

Paph could you explain "no bifoliate cattleya or laelia stock influence, " I thought bifoliate meant two leaf. Thanks
