Hi Drone.

I rather think not, having had a look around the interwebs. But I have a very similar plant - twin leaved, same kind of pseudobulbs etc - that came growing in a hanging basket. So I've kind of treated it as a Stanhopea ever since (as I got a couple of Stanhopeas in the same transaction). I don't know of any twin-leaved Stanhopeas and I've looked on and off for a while. Still waiting for blooms, which may prove definitive on genus.

Unless someone else comes on the forum comes to the rescue, you might want to put it in a hanging basket just in case. But I'd see if you get some more specific responses first, and I'd love to know the species too.

I don't think it's a Stanhophea the pseudobulbs seem to long no idea what it could be there are simply to many options.

I'd just like to add that the pseudobulbs on mine started out looking very, very similar to this. Now they are much shorter and fatter. If - perchance - this is the same genus as my plant, it will look quite different given a while in good conditions. As I said, I treated it as a Stan so I used a store-bought cymbidium mixture. Water every two days or so. It seems to be thriving. And no species (or cross) of a Stan that I am aware of has twin leaves and looks like this. So I probably just got lucky guessing culture requirements.

I don't have a "before" photo but will try and take a photo of how the plants look now (I divided it over a year ago) and post them in the next couple of days.

It's a remarkable resemblance. Some of my leaves even had the spotting, but the twin leaves and the shape of the pseudobulbs in the photo convince me that mine is very likely the same genus. Now it looks quite different to when I got it, so when I find the time to take photos and post it may ring more bells.

Or even Coelogyne that's what I ment with to many options.

Do you know where the plant is comming from?

Hi folks.

Attached are some pics of my own plant. I'll just add that it's much happier and healthier than it used to be. I had to re-pot shortly after I got it so I divided it at the same time. Some of the divisions didn't take, and in particular it was these divisions that closely resembled Drone's plant.

Currently it's approx. 40 cm from the base of the pseudobulbs to the tip of the leaves. (It used to be around 25-30 cm.) How large is your plant Drone?

This was one of three plants in hanging baskets I got out of 200 or so. So I'm assuming it either has very pendulous flowers or the spikes come out of the bottom of the basket. There must be a reason it was in a basket.

And just to add to the possibilities, Coryhopea (Stanhopea x Coryanthes) may also be a suspect.

That's the id i got from another forum.

Mine is just a recent division i got few weeks ago. It doesn't seem to be doing anything yet.

Did you add dried leaves to the mix? What kind of sun are you giving it?
