Immigrant in my flask
I got this seedling out of a ghost orchid flask about 18 months ago. I killed the ghosts when I took them outside but I kept growing this one inside. Since it had leaves right away, I knew it wasn't a ghost. I suspect it just fell in with the other seeds during the flasking stage. Anyway....I was wondering if anyone out there may recognize what this might be as far as genus perhaps? Anything would help and would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hmmm. Sure looks like something in the Cattleya alliance. Sorry about the ghosts.

Yes, I think I'd agree with Kim, probably cat alliance. Will be exciting to see it bloom, do post a pic when it does.

I guess it's pretty unanimous with the catt.
Maria LOL as long as she behaves and does her job she can stay and I'll take good care of her
PS. What's that leaf but not a leaf looking thing all the way to the right on the fourth picture?

If I'm looking at the same thing as you, that's the new growth. They're going to get much bigger than the previous ones as it matures.

New growth as in a new leaf? It sure is way bigger. Thanks Kim.

Unfortunately if it is in the catt alliance from what I understand, it may be a few years before I see a bloom right? It has been fun watching it develop though.
