how about a Leptoceras Menziesii syn. Caladenia Menziesii, is commonly known as the Rabbit or Hare Orchid.
good luck finding one in captivity in the USA They come in bunches and bloom after a bushfire in the Australian outback and they really do look like little mad wabbits

That's one of the species that first came to mind for me too. If it is the plant in question, it's probably an inappropriate choice for a vivarium setup.
Oh wow! I just looked it up and the Rabbit orchid is native to Western Australia where I live. I never heard of it before. Maybe I'll see one growing in the wild one day.

Sorry RJ, I missed your post when reading down and didn't realise you had found the same one as Marion.
hmm, that could be it but now that I think about it, the one I'm thinking of may not even be an orchid?!?
That really is a fascinating looking flower though!
Thank you for all the help
Ok, I figured out what I was thinking of. Turns out it is a terrestrial bladderwort, Utricularia sandersonii. Sorry for the mixup, but thanks for introducing me to an orchid I otherwise think I would never have had the pleasure of knowing!
