Definitely not an orchid - no North American native orchids that look like it. Looks to be something in the pea family.

7 - 8,000 feet.

Not a native orchid.
You're more likely to encounter something like Calypso bulbosa var occidentalis there.

It dose look like it might be a legume of some type.
the leaves look a little off but the flower shape looks like it is from the legume family

hmmm, i cant really tell from the picture, but the flowers look kinda lipped. Look up Schropulariaceae flowers found in the area.
