Coelogyne from Ikea?
Default Coelogyne from Ikea?

Hi, I'm new to orchids this year thanks to Ikea's selection. I have a Beallara, some Paphs, and already have rescued some Phals and Dendrobiums from Lowe's.

I'm doing well so far, but I need some help identifying this orchid. The closest thing I've found so far is a Coelogyne, but I'd like to narrow it down so I can take care of it properly.

Sorry the pictures aren't the best, if they're not enough I can take more when my camera is charged.
Any help is appreciated.

Thank you, that does look very similar. My flower seems a bit more spidery though. Do hybrids vary like that?

Actually, it's a Bollopetalum (Zygonisias have petals that are very narrow at the base and widen toward the apex. The lip also has a different shape). I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it's Bollopetalum Midnight Blue.

Blptm. Midnight Blue is a hybrid of Bollea violacea and Zygopetalum B.G. White.

Thank you all for your help. The foliage and pseudobulbs seem a little more similar to the Bollopetalum.

My flower didn't have such a large, bright blue lip as the Midnight Blue in your picture, but this picture also of a Midnight Blue seems a bit closer.

I broke the flower spike before the flowers were fully opened, I wonder if they never fully matured?
