Default some sort of Dendrobium sp maybe?

Hello everybody,

I lost the tag to this orchid and I don't know what it is. It's in my vivarium. It almost died while I was on vacation but since introduction to the viv it's starting to grow leaves again. Before, each bulb had a smaller leave that was maybe 3 inches long. I know it's a smaller orchid that does well in a viv. I remember it being a Dendrobium and that it was possibly from Hawaii.

All of that mold is gone now. I have installed a fan that exchanges the air in the tank.

Here is a full shot of the vivarium. The orchid in question is behind the discolor. I'm going to get some better lighting before too long.

Do you mean it is native to Hawaii? In this case it is not a dendrobium.

Sorry Andy I have no clue about the orchid but I just wanted to ask do you have a water feature in your terrarium and if it is powered by an internal pump or external cannister filter?
Thanks

Thanks Shadow, I really need to just find that tag or ask the person that I got the orchid from. I'll post the correct name on here when I fine it.

I'm using an external pump/filter for the waterfall. It's the zoomed 501. It works great for this sort of thing and it's really quiet.

Here is a link to my construction journal on Dendroboard.

Speaking of eye candy.... I haven't really spent too much time with this website. I could gawk at some of the orchid pictures all night long.

I've got another quick question about the orchid in the photo. As you can see I'm trying not to loose this one. The leaves are getting bigger with each day but I see maybe a slight yellowing on the tip of the larger leaf. Do the roots look good in that photo? It dried out and took a big loss of roots and the two mature leaves it had on it. I moved it toward the center of the tank but I might move it back closer to where the fan is.

Wish me luck.

Hey Andy,
just saw your other thread, good move taking off the moss Good luck with it, I'd be interested to see how it's going in a month or two.

Yeah, I'll be posting updates from time to time.

I took the sphangum off of this un id orchid. I let the roots dry out and then make sure it gets a little bit of a spray. My girlfriend just said that she hasn't looked at it in a few days and she says it looks better.
