Default not an orchid

Hi all;
I was given this plant by a friend. I am quite certain it is not an orchid,but have hope that someone may be able to help with I.D. as the friend had no clue as to it's ID either.
It blooms sequentially like a Physc. and has a scent like a Brassavola. the bloom only last for one day. Now fr the fun part of trying to upload the photo's. This plant grows in a fan like a Paph. There are two plants in this pot.Also you start new plants from the bloom on the end of the leaf after they finish their bloom sequence.

When I saw the formation of the flower I thought iris. Any idea why it's called a walking iris?

it's called a walking iris because of the new plantlets that form after it blooms, which enable it to spread or "walk" across your garden.

What happens with the walking iris is that after it blooms, a new plant forms where the blossom was. Eventually the new plant, as it gets bigger and heavier, bends down to the ground and takes root. Thus, it "walks" or spreads. IMHO they can be a bit invasive. I'm going to have to dig or pull up a lot of mine. They are taking up too much room. One interesting thing is that the plants all seem to bloom in flushes at the same time. Then there is a space of time when no blooms and then all of a sudden, another flush.
