Default Need help to identify orchid

I'm really stumped by this one. A good friend gave this orchid to me, and she forgot the name of it.

The leaves are very thick with a deep V shape. It almost died on her, but she managed to save it and it started growing again. So she gave it to me. She had an old photo of the yellow flowers on it but it doesn't show the leaves well, but they look quite tall.

I hope someone can help me identify at least the genus!

Thanks in advance
Helen

It's one of the mule-ear Oncidiums - which one I can't tell from the photo.

Thank you Ron. That's a BIG help.
I will start researching some yellows to see what I can find.

Yes, it could be splendidum. Also depending on the shade of brown on the petals/sepals, it could also be coebolleta or maizifolium.
I'm checking with my friend to see if she recognized any of them. I sure hope she remembers!
