Default What kind of orchid is this?
I was wondering if anyone could identify this particular orchid. I didn't purchase it at a gas station, but close. There isn't a tag. Sorry that my picture isn't the best quality.

Generally speaking, its a Dendrobium orchid, I have no idea of the specific type though. I'm sure others will be able to make an educated guess for you on that!

I believe it's a A warm growing den. Not sure about the hybird tho'.

I agree, a dend. Does anyone know if this is what you would call a phal type dend?

The blooms don't look like phal type dend.

It is a dendrobium...
it is an antelope typed dend
perhaps it may have some phalaenopsis dend in it

Antelope or phalaenopsis type dendrobium ... color looks very dark. Is it more violet than red?

Thank you all for your replies. I thought it was a dendrobium, but I'm new at this and wasn't quite sure.

The color is more deep dark purple than red. I loved the unusual dark color and that's why I bought it.

What is the difference in care between antelope or phalaenopsis type? Anything special?
