Orchid identification needed please
Default Orchid identification needed please

Hi all,

I would like to get this orchid identified. Found this plant growing wildly on a tree i planted so i decided to take it down and get it mounted on a piece of fern bark.

The flowers have no fragrance and last about 1-2 weeks.

Here are the pictures :

Welcome to OB!

What first comes to mind is a Dendrobium of some sort.

Please consider that collecting wild orchids has lead to diminishing populations. If everyone "took one home", there would be none left in the wild.

@Shawna

Flowers does have some similarities,but i don't think this plant is a vanilla because i have some vanilla plants too and they don't look similar.
Had a seed pod too and it did not resembled a vanilla pod.

@RoyalOrchids

I did not collect this plant from the wild (am against that too).
This plant was found growing on a mango tree which i planted many years ago....over the years many plants were growing wildly on the tree branches... not long ago i noticed this orchid growing on it also and decided to take it down (along with most of the other plants like ferns and such) because the bark of the tree started to rot due to the moisture.

Thanks for replies!
