Im too bold i guess. Id just go up and knock on the door and ask if they knew what it was. Either they too are orchid lovers, or just happened to purchase a home with monster cats growing on them.

Looks like one of Schomburgkias. For example, Schomburgkia crispa. Seems to me it doesn't get enough light to bloom.

Actually it looks like there are [spent?] flowers spikes on there. I'd kill for a tree like that in my yard!

Wouldn't an internal courtyard with a clear roof be cool with trees in it that you could attach orchids to?
