I think these two are the same kind of orchid, one even has a roots coming out of the top of the plant, so i'm pretty sure it's not the terrestrial type. any ideas?

It does look like a Dendrobium and one with a Keiki or baby growing from the top of a cane. You can cut the old cane just where the root are forming and pot it up with bark mix. Definitely not a terrestrial. They are pretty hardy. Good Luck

I'm pretty sure it's a hybrid phalaenopsis-type dendrobium.

The plant in the second pic has a bunch of leafless keikis growing at the tip of one cane.

Thank you for your advice. Knowing it's dendrobrium is very helpful. I've repotted the orchid (after separating the keiki). I appreciate any further advice after seeing the updated photos; thank you.
