I would say the black dude in pic 3 is definitely a Catasetum, but I don't know which one.

# 3 is Catasetum saccatum
# 4 is most most probably Clowesia rosea. The photo is not very clear. Other option is either Clowesia Rebecca Northen or Clowesia Grace Dunn (both Clow rosea hybrids) but the color does not seem to be right (unless it is an excellent outstanding clone of any of these hybrids) There other hybrids with high percentage of Clowesia rosea, but are not very common in culture, therefore I would not consider them here.

You are right on both of these - Catasetum saccatum and Clowesia rosea. I follow the BBG on Twitter and they've posted photos to their Flickr account of both of these orchids today.

wish they posted on facebook also, anything is better than flckr!

anyway, I went back yesterday. Many plants have tags buried in the pot and on the opposite side of teh glass window. they could display those names if they wanted to.
anyway BBG is great and cheaper than NYBG, a and free winter access.

They have amazing huge Anagraecums and really nice warm growing Coelogynes.

I am now wondering if those 2 with small flowers behind the glass are Coel cristata...

Can't complain too much, yet could be improved.
If i manage my backlog i will post more photos.

I've been using Flickr for years so I guess I'm just used to it.
