Seems like this is another native New Guinea genus - anyone know what it is? The pseudobulbs look somewhat like a Coelogyne, but the inflorescence arises from the base of the pseudobulb not the tip.
If I'm not mistaken I think that you've got some type of Bulbophyllum. Now which species is it I'm not sure of. This one is one of the sequential bloomers that will keep producing buds from that same inflorescence.
hi I'm not an expert but my mums Coelogyne also has the inflorescence arise from the base of the pseudobulb .. heres a pic.. hope it helps... also the leaves on your photos look like Coelogyne to me too.
Hope someone will be able to tell you exactly what it is.
Wow, Rolando, thanks for the tip. I didn't think it looked like a bulbophyllum, but I've gone through the PNG Orchids site on my slow internet today, and found an exact match - Bulbophyllum oobulbum.
