cattleya identification

apologies, I am posting this request twice because I am not sure whether it is best to post under the alliance or here - anyway..

Can anyone help me identify these two cattleyas - see attachments for a salmon/pink one and a purple one

They are both lovely but there are way too many cattleya hybrids to be able to give you the correct identification. Did either one come with any type of a tag?

they are indeed lovely, but other than saying they are hybrid cattleyas, there is no way to positively identify either one....

They are both very lovely. The first one reminds me of Blc. George King 'Serendipity'.

Thanks, Ted, whether this truly is Blc. George King 'Serendipity' or not I will tag my plant as Serendipity because it deserves more than a tag that says "salmony/pinky"

sevilliana, I often put name on my tags which I'm not certain of as well. But I always make sure there is a notation to indicate that it's not a definate name. I use {} arround the name to indicate it's actually still a NoID.
