Here is one for you folks who are good at id'ing without a photo of the bloom. No one has been able to help me yet. I've heard possibly an oncidium, except its flower stalk grows terminally from the pseudobulb, not from the bottom.
Some also said maybe a prosotheaca <sp?>? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I'm going more with a Broughtonia or Encyclia (and segregate genera) outlook on that one... Cattleya have elongated bulbs, while this one is tightly clustered and bulbous.
Oncidiinae have spikes that originate from the pseudobulb adnates with the rhizome... the spike on this one is originating from where the leaf and pseudobulb adnate. The plant here is more typical of Laeliinae...
