We are planning for another trip this weekend to the same area. Maybe find more specimens. I personally feel that this is a important rescue activity because the locations we went to are all earmarked for commercial development.
One very interesting find was a HUGE colony of Cymbidium finlaysonianum... Just to give you a rough idea, the diameter of the trunk of the tree that was felled was around 1 metre. This colony of C. finlaysonianum was growing the whole circumference of the tree, at at covering a total trunk length of around 1.5 - 2 metres. Unfortunately, we could only collect so many...
Apart from the possible Thrixspermum(?), we found other genus as well, namely Dendrobriums, Bulbophyllums and maybe some Renantheras. We can only confirm the exact species when they flower. Will take some pictures this time. Hopefully weather will permit.
