I bought this orchid from an orchid wholesaler. She told me it loses its leaves before it flowers but I want to make sure before it is to late. It looks like a Phiaus but much smaller. It is about 6 to 8 inches tall. She told me it likes it much drier than most species. She had it in her greenhouse. When I figure out how to post pictures I will.

I'm trying. I just uploaded my pics to flickr. I pressed the attach image icon and typed in the URL but it isn't working for me. Perhaps images are to large.

Go back to your flickr page, copy the URL, and paste it here using the internet link icon, not the photo one.

ok, in your photostream: Pics 003 and 005 are either Cycnoches or Cycnodes... Pics 001 and 004 look more like Clowesia, but could also be Catasetum (I go more for Clowesia!)

check this thread and you will find some links with great information on teh culture of Catasetinae: http://www.orchidboard.com/community...ff-hc-sky.html

These plants are actually very easy to grow... follow the info given on the AOS links in the thread I gave you above and you will have no problems with them!

Thank you for the info Ramon. Now that I know the two plants are not even the same species I need to go get more. I don't know why but I have to have two of every plant. Once you brought it up I couldn't believe that I didn't notice it my self but I am fairly new at this although it is rapidly becoming an obsession.
