Default Bloom Of "Is This An Orchid"

This is the first bloom from the plant shown in the thread below. Not the best photo but perhaps it will help with the identification. Thanks to everyone for the help.

It is definitely an orchid.

It does look very much like an Epidendrum sp.

Epidendrums are in the Cattleya Alliance.

Don't know which species it is quite yet.

Maybe it's Epi. tridens. Not sure.

Thank you. I will try to post better photos in better light as the plant continues to bloom.

Very nice Epidendrum! Is it growing naturally there or was it brought in from another place? Would be nice to get it identified. Too bad Selby Gardens in Sarasota got rid of the Orchid ID Center.

Jim it is growing naturally on a trunk about five meters from the ground and I canīt get good light or a good angle (or close enough) for a good close up shot.

Well that's great. It has good form, plant habit and color. It is worth self pollinating and raising some seed ! Keep us posted.

I still think it's an Epidendrum, but Epi. tridens is not native to Colombia that I know of - that's not to say it isn't that species, but I'm not convinced by the pictures.
