Small and beautiful, but I don't recognise the genus
I caught this growing on a neighbour's gardenia the other day. Anyone know what it is? I've put one closeup of the flowers and one including the pseudobulbs, which seem unlike any others I've seen around here (PNG Highlands, 5000ft)

yes I agree,looks like a Dendrobium (Dockrillia) sp.
Thanks for posting these photos,we get to see things that are not often seen.
Very fortunate to live in the center of orchid density in the old world.

I'm betting dollars to donuts that is the Dockrillia formerly known as Dendrobium teretifolium. Commonly called the "bridal orchid" for the way large plants form veils of perfumed flowers. Also commonly called the "pencil orchid" for the leaves.
This is the droopy (don't you just love complex scientific terms?) form, there's an upright form as well. Which has a different name, but it escapes me at present. Ah, looked it up - Dockrillia schoenina is the upright pencil orchid. Very similar flowers.

Taking the genus as Dockrilia, I looked through all the Dockrillia at Jay Pfahl's Internet Orchid Species Photo Encyclopedia - teretifolium and schoenina both have different colour markings there - the closest picture is for Dockrillia chordiformis, and the leaves look correct in the background too ( IOSPE PHOTOS). So I think that would be my best guess for now. Thanks for all the help - no way I would have found it on my own!
