Default phal pallens... or so I thought

I bought this baby in March at an orchid festival, identified as species phal pallens. But as the bud continues to form, I have my doubts- it's a rose color!
Any ideas? I will post another image as soon as it blooms.

maybe the seller meant pulchra instead of pallens?

Yeah, I'm guessing the seller got the P's mixed up, and you have pulchra. It could also be a hybrid, though. Post a pic once the flower opens!

I wouldn't be at all disappointed if it turned out to be pulchra as I've been coveting that species anyway, but if it's a hybrid I'll be just a little sad. I'll definitely post the bloom when it opens!

At long last my 'phal pallens' has almost fully bloomed, and it looks as if you guys were bang-on. It's a phal pulchra or hybrid thereof. You can't see it in the pic, but the petals have that glossy, waxy appearance that pulcha does.

I'm not too upset about being cheated of my ID'd species phal, as I've been coveting a pulchra anyhow and I'm enjoying this sweet little flower!

At least all was not lost. I always hated it when tags get mixed up.

It's very pretty . I would say it is a hybrid with maybe bellina. The lip is different than a straight pulchra and the form is different too. But definitely a keeper. Is it fragrant?
