Potinara Hwa Yuan Gold looking for info
A friend has just been given a plant labeled as Potinara Hwa Yuan Gold 'Gold Angel' AM/OSROC. We have been trying to find any info we can on this plant and first stop was a good old google.
Now I can find quite a few pics of plants labeled as Haw Yuan (eg Blc Haw Yuan 'Jade' HCC/AOC) but I can't find a single Haw Yuan on the RHS register.
To be an awarded plant I thought they would have to be on the RHS register so can anyone give me some more info? I do realise that the plant is probably no longer a Potinara.

On Orchid wiz it is listed as Rlc. (Rhyncholaeliocattleya). Rlc. Lemon Tree x Rlc. Tassie Barbero. Says Grow in bright indirect light, cool to hot conditions 58 - 85 degrees night, 50 - 60 % humidity, plants must dry out between waterings. Fert weekly, weakly. Let me know if there is any other specific info you're looking for & I will see what I can find.

Brenda thanks for such a quick reply and for taking the time to post, but I am now at more of a loss. I have hunted on the RHS database and can't find either Rlc Lemon Tree or Rlc Tassie Barbero. Does Orchid Whizz list non-registered hybrids?
My question is more about identification/parentage than it is about culture and I am totally stumped with these plants on the RHS info. It is as if they do not officially exist.

No problem Cricketerry. I have only been involved in the orchid world for about 3 years and have focused mainly on the culture of things...ie...keeping them alive, making them grow and flower. I am fairly "ignorant" when it comes to all the abbreviations, reg/un reg.....etc....etc.. I think that's why I have Orchid wiz to help me out when I do want to investigate things further. I will type out what info o/wiz shows...and leave it to you to decipher....
Reg - C. H. Hsieh
Orig: Haw Yuan 1997
C dowiana 39.9%
Unreg unregistered 10.2%
C cinnabarina 8.1
Rl digbyana 7.0
C bicolor 6.7
C schroderae 6.3
C purpurata 5.0
C eldorado 3.4
C xanthina 3.0
C mossiae 2.0
C coccinea 1.6
C harpophylla 1.6
C intermedia 1.5
C tigrina 1.5
C warscewiczii 1.2
C quadricolor .8
C trianae .4
Hopefully this is some of the info you were looking for as it took me 20 mins to transfer it (I'm also not computer savy and had to manually retype. I don't think Orchid w. lists unreg. hybrids...maybe someone a little more familair with things can answer that one.

Brenda has it spot on with her info, yes it is on the RHS site, you have to make sure your spelling is 100% perfect or it won't show up, The Gold Angel part is not important, don't enter that in your search.
