hhmmm.... it really could be Eria.... I am not familiar at all with this Genus (I must admit!)... As I only know the pictures, I need to ask my friend whether the plant is fragrant and the roots are hairy...

LOL, Nancy, that was exactly my impression when I saw his plants for the first time... he grows everything in rock wool... He is, by the way, the only person I know who has success with this medium...

I vote dendrobium. Not all of them form canes.
