Pleurothallis sp. from Nicaragua/Costa Rica - Orchid Board

Hi,

I have had this Pleurothallis photo for a long time, that does'nt fit to any of the Pleurothallis species known from the area. It was found at the border between Nicaragua and Costa Rica in a humid low-altitude zone. Anybody familiar with this?

Check out this site...it may help but there are a whole lot of pleurothallis to go through... it's one of the largest genera of orchids as we well know.

Dear Sune,

I am pretty sure that your plant is Pleurothallis microphylla - one of the smaller relatives of Pl. grobyi and Pl. picta.

Dear Eric,

Thanks very much for your ID-help. I have had this little one in my photobase as Pleurothallis sp. for so long time now, and not been able to ID it.

I will post a few more of my "to ID" orchid pics now where I see that a real Mesoamerican orchid specialist has joined the Orchid Board.

By the way, the little cute thing is from Los Guatuzos, Dept. Río San Juan, Nicaragua.
