Brassia NOID, please ID for me..
The first 3 buds opened today.
Does anyone know what this is?
5" lateral sepals
3.5" dorsal sepal
2.5" petals
2" lip
There might be a slight fragrance; something like garlic maybe...

Great growing Richard!! It's excellent you can bloom a Brassia!
It could be a Brassia Eternal Wind 'Summer Dream'. Florists, garden shops and home depots all have that hybrid for sale every summer.

How many flowers on the inflorscence? Looks similar to Brs. Rex (verrucosa x gireoudiana). This has been widely sold as mericlone because of long-lasting, spider-like flowers. Thios is a nice find whatever its name!

10-12 flowers per inflorescence is typical for Brs. Rex.
Whatever your plant is, its off to a great start. Keep up the good culture!

Thats the thing with Brassias. They practically all look the same colour wise so its really hard to know which hybrid it is. I think Ada's are much more attractive colour wise. I've seem a blood red one with very long sepals.......... But unfortunatly it was very expensive!

Here's an update of my Brassia as almost all of the 13 buds on the first spike have opened and the fragrance has become more potent.
