Default Vanda Alliance NOID

So this is a mystery NOID.

Some type of Vanda alliance. Care to start the guess before it blooms?

It is a member of the vanda alliance.

Doubt it is species ascocentrum (too small and not enough buds of the inflorescence)

Most like an Ascocenda - a cross of vanda and ascocentrum. If so, a guess of ascentrum OR vanda hybrid would be correct?

My guess is its either an Ascocenda or Vascostylis.

I checked it this am and the spike is still growing strong.

The span of the leaves is about 9" across. The height of the plant is about the same.

The spike is kind of stubby and not very long and as you can see the flower buds are all clumped together. The spike is about 4 1/2" - 5" long.

I don't see any sap or moisture on the buds.

I will go with Vanda. The plant shape tends that way.

Looks like a Vanda/Ascocenda hybrid. Pretty color.

Isn't it great to have a expert to help us identify our vandas? Thanks Roy, for helping and sharing with all your knowledge. I, for one, appreciate it.

Your Ascocenda might be Su-Fun Beauty, but it could also be Suksamran Sunlight, Udomchai or Motes Mandarin - all orange-colored ascocendas.

Unless I can verify the parentage, some plants in my collection are forever known as Noname. I enjoy growing and flowering these as much as anything, but they'll unfortunately never garner an AOS award.
